There is something about working fishing boats that attract me the world over. The clinker built. paint peeling workboat resting on it's mooring suggest a faithful friend, well cared for but battle scarred from a thousand adventures. These are my favorites. I also love in Mediterranean countries or in the far east when they paint their boats brightly, the reflections are irresistible to me. If I put fishermen in the boats they usually are just part of the overall shape and form, at one with the boat and sea.

Some of my favorite images are the silhouettes of fishing boats from my studio window in Sussex. Boats calm at anchor, job done with the workers in the nearby pub.
